I got up early today(much earlier than my normal summer time day) because I couldn't sleep and it actually has been a good thing. I already weeded the tomato bed, cut half a row of kale(washed and tied it for my kids to sell in the driveway, the rest will be turned into kale chips), emptied the above ground pool that turned green(yuck), cleaned out the bunny house, did two loads of laundry, and washed off the back deck :)
I'm slowly working on the redwork quilt, the birds are time consuming!
I have to run to the store to get the ingredients I need to make zucchini relish. There is nothing like zucchini plants to give you the confidence to garden, these guys are so easy to grow and so prolific with their fruit. This is just two days pickings....
And another thing on the list today is blanching and freezing some beans. This was yesterday's picking. Again, such an easy thing to grow.
So what are you working on today or this week? Anything fun?
Have a productive day,
Tiff
I'm so jealous of your beans! I don't have many yet. But, I do have tons of yellow squash and cucumbers!
ReplyDeleteHi Tiff, Thanks for joining me on my blog. Boy your garden has been productive. Usually by now we have squash running out our ears, but this year we are bearly getting any, been really hot here, even though we have been watering. Looking forward to getting to know you. Take care, enjoy your veggies. Vicky
ReplyDeleteI plant zucchini just to make relish! And chocolate zucchini brownies, check out my post with recipe! Get some rest! lol
ReplyDeleteWell, my husband and I got our cars registered in New Hampshire and got our new driver's licenses. Plus, we got a quote on a filter for the well. Not bad for one day...
ReplyDeleteHe also took me on a giant bike ride this morning...I'm still smarting. I'd buy your kale in a heartbeat...love the stuff!

I've never had zucchini relish! I've actually had a very difficult time growing zukes. It wasn't until this year that I was able to grow them and I still don't know why! But it's been a good summer for them so far!
ReplyDeleteBefore hubby and I opened our store, we had a garden. Zuchinni was one of my favs...cookies, bread, mini muffins, casseroles, even breaded and topped with parmesan...hmmm I can smell all of those recipes now....Take care, Janice
