Baby Stuff...

I've been busy, or at least trying to keep busy... these last few weeks are just dragging by and I really just want to hold Asher in my arms and meet him face to face :)

I had my last appt. this afternoon, 37 weeks 3days... my csection is scheduled for next Friday :)  All was well today. No U/S, just a NST, which he passed with flying colors.  My Dr is thinking he will be a big baby as my stomache is measuring in at 43 weeks... guess we will see!  Any guesses from you guys?

I'm really hoping that he comes before next Friday because I am getting very uncomfortable, but I really have no real complaints.  I think the nesting bug kicked in this morning, after I got back from the gym and showered, me and the kids spent 3 hours cleaning the house from top to bottom! I don't know where the energy came from, but I'm now relaxing on the couch in a nice clean house...happy!

Here I am right before my appointment... my belly got huge!!!

And I forgot to share a picture of Asher last week at 36weeks 5 days....He is totally squished in there!

I made all the kids shirts to wear to the hospital when they meet Asher for the first time... I think they came out pretty cute.

They all have the year that they became a big brother or sister on them...

And then I realized that I needed to make Asher a matching one too. So Saturday we spent all day trying to find a plain newborn onesie or tshirt... but no luck.  I ended up buying a child's red tshirt and then I sewed it into a romper....

And here it is... I can't wait to see him in it.

That's it for now,  have a lovely day,

Success???, LOL!!....

I was letting Jenny out to go potty after we got back from the gym this morning and I noticed this....

My first ever Morning Glory flower!  I always plant the seeds every year, but never to do I get the lovely big vines of glorious flowers that grow over everything.  This year seemed to be no exception...I saw the seedlings come up, I watered them, but hardly any growth, let alone any vining action.   Boy was I surprised when I saw that pretty little purple flower... who knew you could have a stubby Morning Glory!!??
I'm not calling this year a success, it's more funny than anything else! :)

I'm off to the Dr this afternoon...fun stuff.

Zucchini Relish...

I was able to check one more item off my "to do" list yesterday...making the zucchine relish.  I made two separate batches, the traditional sweet version and then a more spicey version(didn't come out as hot as I expected).  Hubby is happy now, he has his relish back :)

Today I am working on my sewing room, hopefully it will be done this week.

Have a happy Tuesday,

35 week Appointment...

Ok,  technically, 34weeks 6 day  Dr. appt.  :)

Asher Jacob stats:
HB 150

Weight, the little bugger wouldn't cooperate to get measurements, so she guessed at least 5 and half pounds

No pics,  he wouldn't show us his face at all! Like I said, he wouldn't cooperate

He is by far my most active baby. He is moving constantly and there are times when his kicks are physically painful to me

He has hiccups at least twice a day now

Mommy stats:

BP  96/57

weight, yep I gained some ;)

No swelling, which according to my Dr is almost unheard of for how old I am. He made several commnents about how amazed he was that I wasn't swollen.

My fundal height is measuring 39 weeks and my Dr. thinks he will be a big baby, guess we will see.

I'm at the stage of being "done", I just want him out so I can hold and snuggle him. Plus, my stomache is very painful and the heartburn is getting to me.  I want to be able to move easily and do the things I used to.  I know it is best for him to "bake" a bit longer, I am just so tired!

Ok, I really can't complain, I have no real problems with my health, it's all just pregnancy related uncomfortability, lol!

Still scheduled for an August 7th csection, but hoping it gets moved up a few days.

Here are some pics of me(and Asher as the belly)...

The boobs are getting too big for my liking! I guess I can't do anything about that though.

I go back weekly now, it's getting close!

Baby Crib for the Family Room...

We never do a traditional baby crib, our babies always sleep in our room with us. This time, for Asher, I bought the Halo Bassinest for our room and can't wait to use it.   But since it will be just him I and during the day, once the kids go back to school, I also needed a safe place to lay him down in the family room( I will need potty breaks!).  That's where this beautiful non rocking cradle comes in... I bought it at a church auction a few years ago.   It's low to the ground, so I don't have to worry about it tipping over, but high enough that Jenny won't be able to get in it.

I made a quick dust ruffle for it this afternoon, no bumpers because they aren't safe.

On the inside is a simple bassinet pad covered with a king size white quilted pillow sham(fit perfectly).

Once he is using it, I'll add a burp cloth or two.

One more thing checked off my list!

Have a beautiful day!

Batik Pixel Heart Baby Quilt....

I finished up another quilt last night :)  This one was for an internet friend who is due with her first baby(a girl) around the same time I am.  She didn't want traditional pinks, so I went with batik fabrics in purples, blue, and green.

255   3" squares, making up 9   12" blocks...

All sewn together with a wide border....

And finished....

I went with a pretty blue flower batik for the backing and a mutli color print for the binding...

I added three purple squares in each corner, which differed from the quilt I got my inspiration from...

I washed it in Dreft and dried it on low... it survived ;)  so I felt safe to get it in the mail today. I hope she likes it!

Here was my inspiration... found on pinterest.. from Blue Elephant Stitches...

Have a lovely day,

Baby Blanket....

I'm not getting as much done as I would like to lately, my "to do" list seems to be growing but my ability to complete it is diminishing!  I'm tired, I'm sore, have major heartburn, lots of braxton hicks contractions, and I just generally feel aweful...but I guess that comes with the territory.

Anyway, I was able to manage one more item on my list... a knit baby blanket for Asher...

I made the pattern on Picmonkey and then had it printed through Spoonflower.   It's done in an organic knit and the other side is a knit blanket from Carters.  Super easy to put together, just sewed them right sides togther, flipped them out and did a zig zag stitch around it all.
This will be his "going home" blanket as it matches his outfit :)

Happy Tuesday,

Happy 12th Birthday Noah and Happy 4th of July!!!

Today is my 5th baby's birthday!  He came into this world with a bang, which is fitting since he is my 4th of July baby!
He is my math genious, a whiz at school, computer loving, sport hating, preteen son :)
He and his dad took a flight lesson early this morning. They both seemed to enjoy it and Noah said it was much less scary than hiking a mountain...go figure.

He requested breakfast for dinner as his birthday supper, which consisted of french toast, sausage hash, and thick cut bacon.

We then had a festive berry cake and homemade icecream:)

Happy Birthday Noah!! We love you and are so proud of the person you are becoming!

And Happy 4th of July to all of you my friends!

Kayaking on Mousam River, Kennebunk, ME

It was another gorgeous day here.  We took the kids kayaking on Mousam River in Kennebunk.  This is a tidal river, so most of the trip was with the current up river and then with the current back down.  We did about 4 miles total and I don't think the kids could have done much more.

Here is a neat old railroad bridge that crosses the river...

We rented 5 kayaks, two tandem and 3 singles.  Zach and I road together and Mason road with James.

Very pretty scenery...

A bald eagle came and flew circles right over us...

My partner tired out for quite a bit of it(notice the paddle Not in the water)

Gavin...

Mason was all smiles...

Me in a swimsuit, not something I would normally post, but wanted to show Asher along for the ride :)

Coming out the other side of the railroad bridge...

Me and hubby :)

It was a great day!  Though I'm paying for it now... currently laying on the couch with a backache and some pretty strong braxton hicks!

Tomorrow is Noah's birthday(and the 4th of July) and he and James are taking a flight lesson.... I hope they can fly over the house so I can get a picture.
