Thursday Thoughts and Random House pics...

I've been thinking lately about my blog and what it is and what I want it to be. Right now it seems to be a mixing pot of my life...crafts, decorating, kids, food, thrifting, and so on. I wonder if that is really OK? I do enjoy how some blogs are really focused, like they are just a quilting, prim decor, or family blog. But then again, I also really enjoy blogs that show the whole picture. I know there is no right way to have or do a blog, because in the end, it is MY blog, right? But what do you think? Do you like seeing the whole picture that I put on here, or would you rather just see crafts and decorating? Btw, have you noticed how much I have been posting? :) I'm trying to be better!

And now for the house pics, because no matter what kind of blog I go to, I like to see pictures :) Here are some of my staircase foyer...

And remember that little wood stand from the church sale with my mom? I painted it white and it fit perfectly in the kid's bathroom.
And the .25 cent curtains work well too!
Have a beautiful day,

Tiff

  1. Love you pictures....As far as blogging, make it what you want it....I switch around alot depending on what is going on in my life...I always try to post at least one pic...I've even posted shorter posts with a picture, so I post more often...When my nephew was killed back in December I posted alot about my feelings and heartache and got alot of support...I worried that people would get tired of my sorrow, but that was MY LIFE at the time and still is...So just posts and let us know what you're up to..~~hugs,Jen

  2. Hi Tiff, I just love your blog, been behind reading blogs lately with grandson in the hospital, but he is home now, trying to catch up reading some of them. I like blogs that show who the person is that the blog belongs to, whether they craft, have kids, decorate, its who you are as a person. When I first started my blog it was all about my antique booth. But then I decided I wanted to make it personal, and since then I have enjoyed blogging more, people can see who I am and what I love to do, it just invites people to step into your little world for awhile to visit with you no matter what is going on with you at the time, I have made so many blogging friends since I have made it more personal. Oh love your foyer, especially the guy hanging on the door, love him. Your home is very special reflects your love for primitives, thanks for sharing your home. Vicky

  3. I love blogs that are a mix of family life, crafts, personal experiences and the like. I've often wondered what it is that makes one person's blog so frequently commented on, and others where no one or very little people respond. Maybe it's due to the content..or the way it's written or the photos, or type of photos/what sort of camera is used to take them...or maybe the person blogging is just way more interesting. I don't know.

What I do know is whether I feel "at home" at a blog...and yours is one that I find warm and inviting, probably just like your home (which the photos reflect) and the woman you are.

Anyway, forgive my rambling. Keep doing what you love and what is important to you {{hugs}} Julia

  4. Hi Tiff,
Of course it is okay. I love your blog, what ever you are in the mood to share.
But yes, pictures are always a special treat!
I struggle a lot with my blog.
Sometimes I feel like I'm all over place.
I guess it is because I have been all over the place lately. Lol!

    I love your photos!
    Your George doll is Amazing!!
    I love him.
I have a small collection of flags in my bedroom.
Thanks for sharing these gorgeous pictures.

  6. I love your photos of your home! I guess
what makes a blog interesting, is a mix of everything. We all like to see what others are doing, how they are decorating, what
they find at sales, etc. I love your blog,
keep doing what you are doing.

    Bear Hugs & Blessings~Karen

  7. I agree with all of the above. Whatever you feel like posting is great. Your home is gorgeous & your George doll is awesome. I try to do a little mix of crafts, decorating, gardening, etc. but right now my camera is acting up, looks like it's time for a new one. I always seem to throw a picture or two of our grandchildren in there too, they are such a big part of our lives. Enjoy your weekend and thanks for sharing.

  8. Love your blog - I like a mixture of things - life isn't just one thing it's a lot of little things all together. I really like all the items you have to play with to decorate in your home! I know with mine I thought it would just be rug hooking but I tend to get "off topic" all the time - I figured if no one likes it they don't have to read it!

  10. Tiff ~
I enjoy the eclectiveness (is that a word?) of your blog. I prefer reading blogs with lots of pictures (is that like "reading" Playboy?) and love getting a glimpse in to the life of the blogger!
LOVE all your American flags! Is that a hooked or punched whale? Even enlarging it it was hard to tell. Did you do it? I remember seeing it on your old blog a couple of years ago and was hoping to see it again. Do you know if it is a commercial pattern (or perhaps your own design?). So many questions. Sorry.
    Happy Friday!
    Pug hugs :)

  15. I really enjoyed the photos of your home. And I like a mix of everything on a blog. You get a better picture of someones life that way.
And it often times sparks a persons interest in something that might never have thought of themselves.
