Day 6, Moose Ornaments...

I hope everyone's Monday treated them kindly. Mine was busy but good. I got the majority of my Christmas shopping done, Yay!!, just a few more things to pick up. I started working on the Christmas ornaments for the family reunion that we are going to in W. Virginia. Everyone is supposed to bring a handmade ornament and then we are going to do a swap. So that means I need to make nine of these. I decided to make Moose ones because we live in Maine. Here are all the bodies and heads cut out of wool....

This was my first variation. I was going for kind of cartoony quirky, with a big head and small body. I took the head from Country Woman magazine, but made the body different. I thought about using sticks for legs and have them dangle, but let's be honest, I don't have the time to cut twigs, drill holes, etc. I wasn't thrilled with how this came out, so I tried something else...
I made a green wool YoYo(like a wreath) and attached the head with some wool bow ties hanging out. Do you think this is better? I'm just not sure.
Here it is with the flash on...
I have all the heads, bodies(if I use them) and antlers cut out and sewn, I just need to figure out what to do. Any suggestions? Remember these are ornaments for my hubby's relatives(who we really don't know) so I was not going for prim.

Have a great night,

Tiff
