At one of my last ventures to Goodwill I came across these curtains. There were 6 valances for $5.99 and 5 cafe length ones for $5.99, I couldn't pass up those prices, $12 for all those curtains!
I really wasn't sure where I was going to hang them, but after I washed and dried them I brought them into the family room and decided they might look nice in there. I have 4 large windows and two small windows in that room. But what curtains do you think I should use? Long or short?
Here is the cafe length... it provides a bit more coverage and privacy, but do you think the length looks odd?
And here is the the short valance, sorry for the dark pictures(I even had all the lights on and it is sunny out but my camera reads dark inside).
Long.....
Short.....
Both....
Or do you think they are just too outdated? Opinions please(and Thank you!)

Hi...I like the right because you can still have a good view of the outside. I love the valance and the way it fits on the rod..very prim...love it!
ReplyDeleteI would lean towards short...but that is because I like the light coming in. :) Maybe you could "skirt" something with the longer set. :)
ReplyDeleteCasting my vote for valance..I don't think they look outdated..especially with the swagged scarf treatment over it. Looks nice!

ReplyDeleteI like both but I know you will not be mixing. So I was thinking long for the next few weeks then the shorter ones as the outside gets green & beautiful flowers are blooming with extra summer sunshine coming in. Blessings!

ReplyDeleteI have the same curtains but with a heart pattern in my living room. I use the short ones and have shutters on the bottom like you do. I use the cafe length with a shutter in my bathroom for more privacy. Those are a great buy!

ReplyDeleteOh, curtains ... My taste is always a bit on the different side, but really I LOVE the cafe' style that you have used as a long valance. It looks great ... and still lets plenty of light in.
